Christians right now are going through what many are referring to as, "the toughest times of my life." It is in these tough times that we all need what I like to refer to as a spiritual pep talk. A faith-talk if you will. Many of us don’t always get the pep talk that is needed to stay fired up because our pastors just aren’t on fire enough to give such a message.

Pep Rallies

I remember when my son and daughter used to play sports. The cheerleaders and students would have pep rallies to fire up the players. The coaches would in turn, give pep talks right before each game. Did it help? Yes, I think it did. One thing is for certain; it sure didn’t hurt. I think we all could use some pepping up ever now and then.

Below, you will find 4 talking points of faith. It will lead you, hopefully through to victory. Examine each scripture and listen to what God is saying to you through His Word. It will pep you up!

If you are feeling discouraged, losing your zeal to work for the Lord, and fighting battles so hard that you have been tempted to throw in the towel; don’t give up! Let’s go through the talking points of how to fight the good fight of faith all the way through to victory and then you can decide if you still want to throw in the towel.

1. When the Enemy Tries To Wear You Down.

The devil wants to wear your faith down because He does not want you to be productive in your business, family life, and most of all, your prayer life. He will try to wear you down by sending one problem right after the other one. He wants you to stay focused on yourself and on overcoming obstacles in your own life so that he will succeed in taking the punch right out of your spiritual life. Basically, he doesn’t want you to be free enough to help others. He will try to make everything you do so difficult that you will want to lay down and quit. He knows that if you do lay down and quit he has won.

Talking Point of Faith:

Tell the devil that greater is He that is in you that he that is in the world. (I John 4:4)

Stand your ground. He knows that if you stand up to him one time and win that you will stand up to him again and again. So the very first time you try to stand up to him he will try to withstand you, but don’t worry or fret, he has to leave. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God threw the devil out of His presence thousands of years ago, and so can you!

Pep Talk:

Remind yourself that your God is bigger than any demon spirit that has, or will ever, come by your way. Speak faith in the face of the enemy. Watch him flee!

2. When the enemy attacks your body.

Many times the enemy will send sickness to try and hinder you. He does this because nothing else has seemed to work. I believe the devil uses sickness as a last resort to stop God’s Children. He may send you a cold, the flu, or something even worse if he can. Just whatever he thinks you might be susceptible to. But as Children of God, we are NOT susceptible to any of the devil’s junk. We are to live victoriously. We don’t have to lay down and die, contrary to what many believe.

Talking Point of Faith:

Enforce the defeat of satan. You are more than a conqueror through Christ.  Tell the devil by the stripes of Jesus you are healed. (Romans 8:37)  (I Peter 2:24)

You don’t have to be pitiful. You can be a courageous warrior in God’s Kingdom. Sickness need not get you down. Although it may come, you don’t have to stay sick. Stand up and fight the battle. Stand up and rebuke the sickness that is hindering you. Put your faith to work by speaking the Word of God.

Pep Talk:

Tell yourself everyday you are getting better. Say it out loud so you can hear yourself. It will make you feel better inside. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word. Speak the Word to yourself and openly command the sickness to leave your body in the name of Jesus.

Don’t forget to attend church regularly.  If you can’t go to church find a spiritual TV program to watch.

3. When the enemy attacks your mind.

If the devil can’t wear your faith down or make you sick, he may try to attack your mind. I know a few people who just don’t seem to have any peace at all in their lives. They go from one extreme to another. I know many of us, from time to time, have things that upset us or cause us to feel down; but some people stay down more than they do up and this isn’t normal. God wants us to be normal.

Talking Point of Faith:

Speak the Word of God to the evil spirit that is tormenting your mind. Tell that evil spirit God has not given you the spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

God's children do not have to put up with the devil. We don’t have to let him rob us of our peace. God has given to us love, joy, and peace. (Galatians 5:22) If we would only rely on the Word of God we wouldn’t be in such turmoil.

Pep Talk:

Keep your mind on the Lord in doing so your mind will stay in perfect peace. (I Isaiah 26:3) Tell yourself that you are going to overcome and are overcoming every obstacle that is in your way. Remind yourself daily that you don’t have to be scared of anything. Peace and power is yours.

4. When you feel discouraged.

Discouragement is a killer of faith. With discouragement comes hopelessness. They are twin brothers. Where discouragement is hopelessness will be there soon after. But this is not God’s plan. God doesn’t want us to keep company or hang out with these two spirits. Do you want to know why? Where there is discouragement there is usually lack of hope and that brings the side effect of a lack of faith which in turn displeases our Heavenly Father. This is a great hindrance to our faith.

Talking Point of Faith:

Speak this scripture in the devil’s face.

Now the God of hope fills me with all joy and peace in believing that I may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (Romans 15:13)

Pep yourself up:

Remind yourself that you have power over all the power of the enemy. You can be free from the spirit of discouragement or any other spirit that comes your way.  (Luke 10:19)

Closing Thought:

The enemy, which is the devil, really can’t do much to us without God’s permission. And I feel the main reason that bad things happen to good people is NOT so much that God has allowed it but that people have allowed it. And the reason they have is because many haven’t been taught they don’t have to take what the devil dishes out. God doesn’t give the devil the power to overtake us so if you are feeling overwhelmed God isn’t doing that to you.

Stay focused on the things of God. Rebuke the devil and he will flee. Daily read and speak the Word of God. Keep on keeping on and you will be fighting the good fight of faith.
